In a career spanning 50 years, Shravan Gurav has developed an innate & unique style of creative presentation through his paintings & sculptures. This versatility extends across diverse media: Oils - Acrylics - Watercolours - Pencils & Charcoals - Sculptures, etc. His earlier career with advertising developed a strong application for bold colour schemes along with unusual perspectives in all his paintings.

Shravan Gurav was born in 1938 in Amalner town of Jalgaon district in the state of Maharashtra. His impression from these early years are reflected in his unique rural presentation. He moved to Mumbai in 1954 & is an alumnus of Sir J.J School of Art-Mumbai. After graduation he started his career association with advertising, where he made his impact with a distinctive illustration style.

Shravan Gurav always believed that the source of a creative representation could be made from any & all of our observations & experiences. This belief manifested itself in his bold abstracts and his visual perception for portraits & landscapes. His paintings traverse an entire range from classical to modern style. His palette consists of a myriad range of bright & mixed colours which impart a fascinating hue to his paintings. His continued ongoing curiosity of life & keen observation allow him to create a wide range of compositions. His joy with the medium is evident from the colours of each individual work.
